No need to convince me to watch the World Baseball Classic anymore.
I don’t think anyone was expecting to witness a fight that could have rivaled the craziest Yankees-Red Sox throw down from back in the day.
The charge for Team Mexico was led by ex-Yankees pitcher Alfredo Aceves who looked possessed. Since going from the Bronx to Fenway Park, Aceves hasn’t exactly been a poster child for good attitude as this guy is a hot head.
Still Aceves stare wasn’t quite as menacing as his teammate Giants closer Sergio Romo. Romo looked like he was casting some type of spell on Team Canada, like exorcist type stuff.
I am positive that Russell Martin, the Yankees starting catcher for the last there seasons was in mix somewhere as well. ‘The Mussel’ is a fourth-degree black belt in Karate but I did not notice any Daniel Son stuff going on. Yankee fans are all too familiar with Martin’s overall toughness behind the dish, as this guy is tough as nails.
This fight had so much going on it would take hours of studying the video in slow motion to figure out who did what.
If you were not tuned the WBC yesterday, you missed out on seeing this skirmish live. But this reply is darn good and shows the full deal.
Heck I don’t even know who won the game.
