New York Yankees Hot Stove: We Want Tim Tebow

Obviously the New York Yankees have not literally signed Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow, but that is only because he is not available at the moment.

Tebow is to busy winning football games in the most unconventional ways, at least until now.

After Tebow’s 2-8 in passing performance last Sunday vs. Kansas City Chiefs, I was sure the New York Jets would not allow Tebow to do much. Mind you Tebow’s second completion of the game did lead to the winning touchdown but what QB wins throwing two completions.

Well, the top-rated Jets defense failed when it mattered most, with a minute left and blowing a 13-10 lead. Tim Tebow did not. He went on a 95 yard, 12-play drive and evaded a full on blitz to score the winning touchdown for Denver.

Now the Broncos are 4-1 since Tebow took the reins, and it is almost impossible not to appreciate that something special is going on here.

What makes Tim Tebow seem so unreal is his character because in the world today guys like Tebow just don’t exist.

No one is that righteous and pure without coming off as creepy, because it is usually just a matter of days before the ball of truth drops.

Anyone, who preaches about living a holier than now lifestyle, is automatically deemed crazy, right before he/she winds up actually being a liar.

So how is Tim Tebow any different?

He isn’t but the rest of us are; and maybe Tebow is just what the world needs, a good person.

Tebow has gotten more flack than Alex Rodriguez, but without the steroids.

Tebow has the work ethic and pure love of the game like Ray Lewis, but minus the murder trial.

Tebow has as clean a record as the Penn State football program, but without Jerry Sandusky.

Maybe it is time we all learn from Tim Tebow because he is proving exactly what Ozzie Guillen tweeted after the win vs. Jets… good things happen to good people.

It is that simple because that is Tim Tebow.
