Yankees get swept, Giants get schooled on a Sunday to forget

The New York Yankees got beaten badly in Beantown.

Mr. Met making a funny.

Mr. Met making a funny.

It was a three game sweep that made Yankee fans everywhere question whether this 2013 team is even good enough to compete if they happen to slide into the postseason, which would be via Wild Card berth only.

That is because the moment the Red Sox finished off the Yankees last night, they eliminated the Bronx Bombers from any possibility of winning the AL East. Not that anyone thought that was even faintly plausible anyway.

Prior to the Yankees breakdown, Peyton Manning and his Denver Broncos absolutely crushed the New York Giants. The G-men are now 0-2 on the season.

So fans in the Big Apple got a double dose of rotten on what started as a gorgeous day in the city.

Nothing more really needs to be said regarding the Yankees.

See unlike the Giants, who have just started NFL campaign, the Bronx Bombers are down to their last 12 games of the 2013 season and basically need to win them all or else no postseason berth for the second time in 18 years.

The team finally has an off day after a 17-game stretch, but I think New York fans might need it more. I am kidding, sort-of.
