So how do the Yankees and Orioles look on paper heading into ALDS Game 3 tonight?
Well, both teams got a win and a loss in Baltimore and looking at the two games on paper is very much in succession with what they looked did during the regular season.
ALDS Batting Stats thru 10-10-2012:
Team | AB | R | H | 2B | HR | RBI | BB | SO | SB | AVG | OBP | SLG | OPS |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| New York Yankees | 70 | 9 | 19 | 4 | 1 | 9 | 9 | 16 | 1 | 0.271 | 0.350 | 0.371 | 0.721 |
| Baltimore Orioles | 66 | 5 | 15 | 3 | 0 | 5 | 2 | 14 | 0 | 0.227 | 0.250 | 0.273 | 0.523 |
ALDS Pitching Stats thru 10-10-2012:
Team | W | L | ERA | SV | IP | H | R | ER | HR | BB | SO | AVG | WHIP |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| New York Yankees | 1 | 1 | 2.65 | 0 | 17 | 15 | 5 | 5 | 0 | 2 | 14 | 0.227 | 1.00 |
| Baltimore Orioles | 1 | 1 | 3.50 | 1 | 18 | 19 | 9 | 7 | 1 | 9 | 16 | 0.271 | 1.56 |
As usual the Orioles should be down 2-0 but once again they continue to defy all stats but hey if a team wins, I guess you can tear the paper up.
Or maybe father time will catch up to the O’s because these stats cannot be defied forever because it doesn’t work that way; and that is what the Yankees are hoping for but they cannot strand guys on base like they did in Game 2.
This is no doubt a HUGE game for both teams and I predict a Yankee win with a score of 6-2.
OHHH…and A-rod will have been responsible for two of the runs scored.
