This phenomenon Yankees pitching prospect, Pat Venditte who is ambidextrous, successfully as able from with either arm. Venditte also has two entirely different deliveries, overhand from his right and 10 o’clock sidearm as a lefty.
As a child Venditte’s father traced his son’s hands in order to have a custom glove made that caters to both hands. Venditte still wears this unique glove design, and can change it from hand to hand faster than most people can make a glove off just one.
The sports world has not seen a player like Venditte in over a century.
The question remains, will Venditte ever make it to the Bronx or play at the major-league level?
The word out is that this kid is one hard worker and determination to play at the highest level. Still, coming up as a switch-pitcher could become less appealing is the word on the street. Venditte might choose a primary side, but knowing if needed he can propel that glove over to the opposite hand just as obviously.
Just watch E:60 Pat Venditte below:
Watching Venditte on the mound today was far from unimpressive. Its to early to deem whether or not Venditte arms will stay durable, and managers have to think about what path to nudge him towards for this to be successful.
Trust me the sports world will be watching, and waiting to see Pat Venditte.
Hopefully his rare ability will become baseball history, and why not he already has a rule named for him.
Big thanks to Girardi, as we got to see Venditte pitch against the Braves today.
