Yankees: When you are not used to losing

Out of respect for the teams that will be playing in this postseason, along with my utter disappointment as a New York fan, I will not yet begin to discuss all the

issues facing the Yankees going forward just yet.

Am I being a sore loser?

Probably but try to understand that as a Yankees fan, I am used to winning.

This is usually the time when my father and I are buying tickets for ALDS and ALCS games, not anticipating the end of season like a kid on Christmas.I almost considered it a family tradition.

So as I subject myself to watching these last few Yankees games it reminds me of this movie called Human Centipede.
This movie was utterly disturbing to the point that I had nightmares in the weeks following. I should have shut the movie off but there were slight moments of hope that made me have to see the ending that wound up horrific.

The Yankees gave off a degree of hope at the start to the 2013 season with that out-of-nowhere, unexpected hot start.

Remember this was a team who came into the season ravaged with injuries and a front office that did not plan accordingly. And not because they couldn’t have fixed things during the off-season, Yankees ownership choose not too.

But that smidgen of hope brought back a familiarity of winning, something that Yankee fans are accustomed too.

Does this make us bad people?

No not bad, just eager for another postseason berth.

That was George Steinbrenner‘s promise, and that was his son’s inherited owner Hal Steinbrenner too.

The big decision now is whether Hal wants to win on the field again, or at the back.

If he sticks to his budget plans it is only fair for him to change the Yankees brand too.

There is no way that the Yankees can win in 2014 without spending some serious money in the off-season.

The Yankees do not have the resources in the minor leagues and the risks taken this year did not reward.

That is all for today.
