Yankees: We are living in an Alex Rodriguez World

The New York Yankees have a lot of problems.

Finishing 2-3 in their last five games and last West Coast road trip of the season is not what needed to happen. The Yankees are now 11-15 vs. West Coast teams this season, yuck.

The formally known Bronx Bombers are now sitting pretty in fourth place in the AL East, 9.5 games behind the first place Red Sox and 4.5 games out of the Wild Card.

Anyone who thinks the Yankees can pull some miracle and win the AL East is going to be very disappointed because the division is too darn competitive with the Rays and O’s right behind Boston.

Let me put it this way, this time last season the Yankees were sitting atop of the AL East, had a run differential +88 and were 6.5 games ahead in the division.

Right now the Yankees have a RD of -11, and yes, you read that correctly.

The Wild Card is doable but only if the team plays a lot better. They have to take advantage of teams like the Padres who just won two of three game set this past weekend.

Another interesting tidbit is that Robinson Cano has been intentionally walked 14 times already this season, compared to 10 in 2012 and 11 in 2011.

Solution is easy…A-Rod. As his righty presence behind Cano’s in the batting order could be huge, but at the very least an improvement.

I never thought this would cross my mind as a possibility, but is Captain Derek Jeter finished?

The Yankee Captain is rumored to be heading back to the 15-day DL tomorrow after needing an MRI on his right calf that revealed a strain.

This is the third time Jeter has attempted a return this season that has failed.

Sports Illustrated is reporting that the Yankees and Jeter do not know what they are going to do.

The Captain had this to say about the 2013 season, “It’s terrible. The whole season has been a nightmare.”

The big day is finally here as Alex Rodriguez is in Chicago and ready to take the field vs. the White Sox tonight.

Will Commissioner Bud Selig get to A-Rod first?

In all honesty this Biogenesis Investigation is turning into a joke.

What the heck is MLB waiting for?

If the evidence is so earth shattering proving that A-Rod and a slew of his peers used PEDs why have no suspensions handed out yet?

ESPN has reported like 10 different times already that, “tomorrow suspensions will be given.”

Well, we still are waiting….

If not Selig, Yankees inherited owner Hal Steinbrenner could make a last-ditch effort in preventing A-Rod from stepping on the grass at Comerica Park.

You play, Yanks pay.

And what is the one thing that Hal is most passionate about?

It is all about the Benjamins, as Baby Stein did not pick up his father’s spending habits and who knows what Hal might do with the $100+ million he owes A-Rod on the line.

Maybe Hank Steinbrenner wear a Mr. McGibblets costume, like Taco did on The League and try to scare A-Rod out of playing?

Bottom line is no one cares about baseball right now because we are living in an Alex Rodriguez World and trust me everyone will be watching this drama unfold.

Never a dull moment that is for sure.
