Yankees Hot Stove: Hasta la vista Phil Hughes

Finally, my nemesis Phil Hughes is no longer a New York Yankee.

My tumultuous relationship Hughes is no big secret, as I have made a blog out of regularly tearing him to shreds.

Ok so maybe I am being dramatic, but Hughes has indisputably been a favorite subject featured in some of my most popular articles. Some have even called me a bully, as I have written about Hughes a total of 113 times. Wow!

So, what should be a joyous occasion is accompanied by a bit ambiguity too.

As the Minnesota sports media might not realize it yet, but they just got handed a pitcher that will give them oodles of storylines for the next three seasons.

Hey maybe Hughes will make me eat my words, and actually earn the $28 million bucks the Twins are paying him.

But if there were a spread on whether the Twins will come out winners from signing Hughes, you can bet the odds would say it is a long shot.

In his honor, I will share the top nine most controversial, yet popular posts I have written about the Twins newest pitcher, and now former Yankee Phil Hughes.

Honestly, I wish Hughes all the best and hope he blossoms in Minnesota, as I will be watching.

He'll probably pull out a Burnett, Ian Kenndy type of post Yankee 2014. Good Luck BFF.

    • Richard – I was thinking the exact same thing. Hughes will probably throw a no hitter in the Bronx next season. Nothing would piss me off more.
