Yankees: Not much to say after heartbreaking loss

The New York Yankees lost a 14-inning heartbreak-er early this morning to none other than the Tampa Bay Rays, 10-5.

Derek Jeter went 0-7 for the first time in his career, and the Yankees were 1-13 with runners in scoring position (RISP) so my guess is the mood in the clubhouse was probably pretty somber.

This game marked the third loss in a row for the Yankees. It also took them officially out of first place, and moved the Orioles atop of the AL East.

If the Yankees want to end this losing streak the offense has to score runs.

And no time, like the present as the bullpen is officially decimated and it would be nice to secure a win for Masahiro Tanaka, who is going to have to go the distance today.

The Yankees have two early afternoon affairs left against Tampa Bay before heading out on a quick West coast trip to face the Angels and Brewers.

Bottom line is this 6-hour game was ugly, and there is nothing more to say about it because I would rather put it in the rear-view.

Let’s hope the Yankees can figure things out now before they keep falling backwards.
