Yesterday instead of playing against the Phillies, New York Yankees Derek Jeter went to the doctor.
Why?
Skipper Joe Girardi said that Jeter’s surgically repaired ankle was feeling cranky.
But according to the New York Daily News, Jeter was sent to Dr. Daniel Murphy where he had an MRI that showed mild inflammation in his ankle.
Cranky is about how I am feeling right now with the way things are going for the Yankees.
Jeter is obviously not fully healed so back on the injury list he goes. A list that way too many players have wound up on this spring.
Here is a quick list of Yankees that have endured some type of injury:
(List in random order)
Derek Jeter – Ankle
Clay Rapada – Shoulder
Boone Logan – Elbow (returned)
David Robertson – Shoulder (returned)
David Adams – Back
David Herndon – Elbow
Curtis Granderson – Forearm
Mark Teixeira – Wrist
Phil Hughes – Back
Michael Pineda – Shoulder
Alex Rodriguez – Hip
WOW!
That list would make any Yankee fan feel irritable, grouchy and crabby, but not cranky.
I think that word should be designated to Girardi only, as he will need it this season.
