Have you ever made a mistake or a few?
Well, I certainly have done many things that I regret and my guess is you have too.
Now pretend that everyone, everywhere knew your mistakes and judged you on that merit only.
Personally, I can’t even begin to imagine what that would be like.
I am sure all of us have been on the other end where a friend, family member or significant other has done something that they regret that affected you.
If that person owned up to it and apologized, I would embrace them again because life is to short to carry around that much anger.
Holding grudges takes a lot of energy. And speaking for myself, I would rather forgive and be a little cautious without becoming presumptuous.
No doubt A-Rod has made some bad decisions over the years but the amount of hate people have towards this man is very concerning.
Were A-Rod mistakes directed at you?
Did his steroid admission impact your life at all?
Does A-Rod’s monster salary change your bank account?
The answer to all three is NO.
If you happen to be a good friend of A-Rod’s on a personal level, my bad and you should just stop reading this now.
But I will bet my bank account that no one reading this can honestly make that claim.
In my opinion any adult that trash talks a person they have never met is wasting energy that should be used to work out the real problem, your anger issues.
You can be jealous of his super-star lifestyle, but there are a lot of people living as large who people don’t attack for feeding popcorn to their hot girlfriend at the Super Bowl.
No doubt A-Rod is rich, handsome, and always has a hot actress on his arm. He also has two beautiful daughters who are surely, if not already, going to unfairly hurt from all this bashing of their dad.
The bottom line here is to try and look at the bigger picture because the punishment doesn’t fit the crime here.
Not A-Rod, not you, not me ever deserves to be treated with such carelessness.
We all mess up because we are human beings.
Oh and yes, A-rod is overpaid but that is not his fault.
Let me be clear, I am not trying to win A-Rod a popularity contest.
But I am going to say that he is working his butt off to get back to the Bronx for us the fans, and that takes a lot of courage on his part.
The point of this article is not to convince you to start cheering for A-Rod, but it is merely asking you to stop booing him and be silent.
It is the right thing to do for someone who is doing everything he can to win for you.
As Mother Teresa once said, “People are unrealistic, illogical, and self-centered. Love them anyway.”
Here are some of the latest newspaper articles that are only stiring the pot and making things worse.
