I will get right to the point. Beating Boston tonight could benefit the Yankees in more ways than one. TRUST Last season, the playoff-less Yankees went 6-13 against the now reining World Champion Red Sox; and the embarrassment is still fresh in New York. The 2013 Yankees lost the fan base’s faith, and winning is […]
Who do you think deserves to be the New York Yankees fifth starting pitcher? 1) Ivan Nova? Nova is currently on the 15-DL due to inflammation in his right triceps, but prior had informally been the Yankees fifth starter. Last night, at the start to the eventual 3-2 Yankees win in Colorado, the NY Daily […]
New York Yankees pitcher Ivan Nova is the real deal. At least that is what everybody initially thought of him. When Nova hit the major league level back in 2010, he showed some promise. Pitching just 42 innings in total, he went 1-2 with a 4.50 ERA. It was a small sample size where he […]

He walked 17 batters and allowed 21 earn runs, but Nova’s overall performance wasn’t as bad as the stats make it seem. Still, the Nova from last year would not have been named as the Yankees fourth starter.
Entering 2011 Spring Training, the New York Yankees had no back end in their pitching rotation, as the four and five spots were wide open. GM Brian Cashman decided to go with the motto of quantity over quality, which was far from comforting. Names like Bartolo Colon, Mark Prior and Freddie Garcia were the solutions […]
