I knew it!

As I watched the New York Giants lose on Sunday 38-35 to the Green Bay Packers, I knew that something was not right with the officiating.

For an Eagles friend to say to me that the game looked “rigged” about five different times throughout the game was enough for me to make a list of reasons why.

When I got home and relooked at what I had jotted down, I unambiguously ripped the paper into pieces. I didn’t want to be that fan.

So, when the New York Post arrived at my front door on Tuesday morning I felt alleviated. Obviously, I wasn’t the only one who felt “robbed.”

Coach Coughlin threw the red flag in the first quarter, and still the ruling of an incomplete stood. Coughlin, who is renowned for being right when he throws that red challenge flag, got it right.

Next time I promise not to let my ego get the best of me, as I thought of how I would look not what I saw clearly in front of me.

The Giants won that game, and listening to announcers Troy Aikman and Joe Buck, you heard how perturbed they were with more than just the Jake Ballard missed call.

The 2011 New York Yankees Team Was Built To Win This WS

With each fleeting game, my attempts not to notice the absence of the 2011 New York Yankees in the World Series is wearing thin.

The more I watch the Texas Rangers and the St. Louis Cardinals play, the more I realize that the 2011 Bombers were truly molded to win this postseason.

With only five games down and at most two left to play, the Rangers are looking to close this WS out after taking a 3-2 lead over the Cardinals. The Rangers won this unexciting Game 5 by a score of 4-2.

When this revelation really dawned on me was after viewing the Rangers and Cardinals make a slugfest dull in Game 3, that the Yankees could have beaten both these teams. I mean the Bombers beat the Rangers 7-2 in regular season games, and even if the Rangers win the whole shebang, I am still not buying it.

I recognize how totally outlandish this theory is based on the Yankees early exit from the ALDS, as they lost a heart wrenching Game 5 to the Tigers but that was the Bombers at their worst.

The Yankees bats were all out of sorts because when a team has one or two opportunities to tie a game and fail that is getting outplayed. It is different when a team strands a total of 12 men on base, as that my friend is choking.

By no means am I taking away from the Tigers performance, as Detroit was playing at the top of their game. Still, that doesn’t change the fact that the Yankees were not.

So, how can I say that an eliminated team is built to win the World Series?

Well, anyone with a brain would realize that the Rangers and Cardinals are not winning off dominant starting pitching; instead they are disarming opponents with their powerful bats and shutdown bullpens.

New York Yankees Are Not Immune To Slumps

THE LATEST:

As if listening to FOX’s Joe Buck for nine innings wasn’t bad enough, the New York Yankees tacked on another ugly loss, as they fell 6-0 to the Boston Red Sox for the second straight night.

Add that to some internal Yankee drama with ex-catcher, now DH Jorge Posada removing himself from the line-up, about two hours after he was moved to the ninth spot in the order.

It’s no secret that Posada has not been happy in his new role, nor has he been exceling in it either. To his credit Posada has posted 6 home-runs, 15 RBIs, two doubles, 18 hits and 15 walks so far in 2011, which is not horrific but his last home-run was back on April 23rd. Posada has the lowest batting average for players who have more then 100 plate appearances with a .165.

Posada needed a night to clear his head, nothing wrong or nuts about that as we have all been there before. So, try to give Posada a break, end of story.

THE SLUMP:

Overall the bigger problem is that Yankees are not playing well. The good news is that if the team hasn’t hit rock bottom already, they are darn close. For once the media’s antics will actually help the Yankees get their sooner.

Without a doubt it absolutely sucks when a team is slumping. For players it can’t be fun, but speaking as a fan I try to remind myself that this is standard and unavoidable bearing in mind the extent of a 162 game season.

The Yankees are not immune to slumps. Trust me, I know how maddening it is to witness, as it seems never ending. Then you turn on ESPN or pick-up the Sunday paper only to be reminded how ugly it is.

Remember how bad things were for the Red Sox or the reigning World Champion San Francisco Giants the first few weeks of 2011? Or look at what is going on in Minnesota, as the Twins are 12-25 and sitting in the cellar of the AL Central.

I was actually really bummed for the Red Sox because I love the rivalry. I even defended the Red Sox because I knew that this was a temporary situation up in Boston and had no doubt in my convictions.

Look, truth is the Yankees are flirting with a mini-collapse if things don’t change now. This is due to their upcoming schedule, as the Bombers face the hot Tampa Bay Rays, the Baltimore Orioles and the Toronto Blue Jays over the next 10 days. New York Yankees: FOX’s Joe Buck Sticks It To A-Rod During SuperBowl

Late in the first quarter of Super Bowl XLV, the camera flashed New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez sitting with his girlfriend Cameron Diaz.

Diaz was feeding A-Rod popcorn at the moment, and Fox’s Joe Buck was elated to have caught the slugger being feed like a baby. It was typical A-rod awkward.

At that moment in the broadcast, Buck was narrating around the box seats what celebrities were where, like Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones, President George W. Bush, his wife and Ashton Kutcher. Buck obviously had direct video access of this feed as he was pointing out each star.

Buck is no dummy. He knows how to piss off Yankees fans and A-Rod is an easy target.

Admittedly, my first reaction was whatever the definition of ‘yuck’ is in the dictionary. It is so typical that A-rod has to be fed, but maybe because it was by Diaz that made it so gross.

Diaz serves right into A-rod’s want and joy of hanging with celebrities. This off-season A-rod has been photographed at parties in Miami, Las Vegas, New York, Mexico and most recently Paris and that is just off the top of my head.

2011 New York Yankees: Media Baiting The Bombers Right Into Winning No. 28

It’s September 17, 2011, the New York Yankees are playing a Saturday afternoon game up in Toronto, the second of a three game set against the Blue Jays.

Including this game, there are just 10 games left in the regular season.

The Yankees, who are leading 4-1 in the bottom of the eighth, are about to clinch the AL East.

Shocking to say the least, as no one predicted the Bombers to even be wildcard contenders. Unquestionably, this was not supposed to be happening.

I mean the Yankees were old, outdated, yesterday’s stars and age was supposed to come before beauty in 2011.

These statements were specified as facts that Yankee fans were told to deal with it back in April.

Why?

Well, because the 2011 World Series was going to be between the Phillies and Red Sox. PERIOD.

The Yankees were assumed to be building a nursing home in October, not playing in it.

How could they win, with a below average shortstop, an overrated third baseman, a declining guy at first and a pitching staff that only had one certified ace.

So let’s say after clinching, the Yankees finished the 2011 season posting 103 wins. Continued onto the World Series, a rematch against the Phillies and the outcome was like déjà vu.

Alex Rodriguez: Could Joe Buck’s Killer Wave Land A-Rod On DL?

Before Saturday’s game between the Yankees and the Boston Red Sox word spread Yankee third baseman Alex Rodriguez was sidelined. The news was true, Rodriguez was placed on day-to-day status.

The announcement gave Yankees fans plenty of reason to worry, because anyone with a brain had the same thought….WTF?

How did this happen to Rodriguez?

Then the replay tape of batting practice visually explained that new Yankee Lance Berkman hit a line-drive that nailed A-rod in the ankle. A-rod fell to the ground in an agony of pain.

Berkman felt awful, as it was his ball that might have cost the Yankees the season. It was an accident and accidents happen, but this was not good.

Minutes later the game started, Fox Sports announcer, and known Yankees hitter, Joe Buck was openly proud of the fact that he was to blame for the injury.

Buck said he was waving to A-rod at the time, which caused the All-Star to turn and acknowledge Buck.

“I just said hello for literally one second to Joe and just got smoked,” Rodriguez said.

Fact is the Yankee line-up struggles without Rodriguez. To put it more accurately, the Yankee bats are better with A-rod active.

Whichever way it’s phrased, A-rod has proved time and time again his worthiness, while Joe Buck continues to prove he is not a Yankees fan.

ESPN’s Baseball Machine Even Hates The Yankees

Finally, after winning the World Series there was no way Buster Olney and Tim Kurkjian could not predict the Yankees as the favorites in the AL East, and the team to beat.

Well, ESPN Magazine’s Baseball Preview issue done  by the duo predicted that Boston Red Sox will win the division by four games over the Yankees. Yes, the currently reigning champs, who just barely make the Wild Card in 2010 as the Tampa Bay Rays are just a game shy.

Wait it gets better, Mariano Rivera will lead the AL East serious decrease in ability. Mo will nearly doubling his ERA from 1.76 to 3.18, about ten less strikeouts than 2009, and all done throwing less innings too.

The player with the biggest upside, is Red Sox’s 3B Adrian Beltre who’s home-run total will double in 2010 season. Beltre’s SLG percentage will increase from .379 to .454, and the one word sentence containing ‘Jackpot.’ finished it off this declaration.

So how did this one make sense because he had a career year in 2004? Maybe it’s because ESPN considers a player with multiple injuries the equivalent striking gold?
