Hey Yankees Motto Is You Win Some, You Lose One

English: the New York Yankees' World Series tr...

What a nice seven game win streak the Yankees had been on till our loss tonight in the third game to Seattle Mariners. The Yankees won two out of three to takes the series.

In response to the loss just as Girardi said after the game these athletes are human beings who can’t win every game and I could not agree more. As a fan I think I forget that sometimes. Wouldn’t it be nice if the streaks would go on for 40 or 05 games? Of course it would but that would make it boring and pretty uneventful.

Lets pretend that the one team won 120 games cruised on to win their division and continued to be champions of their respected division. This super-human team of athletes would be the projected winner in the world series by such odds, obviously. The city this team called home had already started celebrating and the only thing not prepared for the ticker tape parade was just contingent on how quickly they would win.

Does it hurt more to let’s say if this team lost? I can tell you from experience that beating the team that seemed unstoppable is one of the best feelings I have ever had as a fan. Can you guess what two teams I am referring too?

I am referring to when my New York Giants beat the 17-0 New England Patriots in 2007.

Why the hell am I bring this up now? I am referring to this because I want that feeling again for the Yankees this year.

Yes, I am talking about the 26 ringed dynasty that was the franchise a decade ago to aspire too. I know so many haters of the Yankees who hate them for becoming what the team represents today. So I wonder is it the big payroll or the loyal fans that makes so many root against the Yanks? Do the players on the Yankees not play as hard as the rest cause they go home to bigger houses and drive a Ferrari or at least have one? Proud To Be In Pinstripes….And It Only Took A Week!

My Yankees have had quite a week. A week that was needed for so many reasons for any team on brink of the tipping point. Honestly, this past week could have been the most critical of the season for the team from the Bronx.

The Yanks are not by any means in a isolated or even close to secure spot. The route is the beginning to journey on a road that had to be walked down. Pluto is far gone in the universe and the Yanks do not want to go unseen like that.
As of Father’s day the Yanks were a four games out of first place, now just it just three. Does not sound like much to the non obsessed baseball fan but oh how wrong they are.
Breathing down the Yankees necks are Tampa and Toronto. These two divisional teams are one game behind each other and just one and two games behind the Yankees respectfully.
It had potential disaster. All three teams were playing well since the 21st of this month. Then you have to incorporate Boston into the mix. The Red Sox started to seem like our could have really made a gap into a bridge. Our hated rivals, how bad it could have been.
I was starting to forget that baseball games included hitting. The Yanks made it painful to watch top of each inning, during all this away inter-league play. The number of teammates jogging in from the first, second or third bases was becoming a fad like boyfriend jeans, really expensive with rips all over.
FYI….that has ended and boy did the team want to prove it. Everyone took part in this slaughtering with bats from Jeter to Cervelli to Pena.
And let’s give a warm welcome to Brett Garner! This guy has been on fire wherever and whenever he steps on the field. Becoming the biggest threat in a line-up of all-stars. It is nothing less than energizing. Continue reading ‘Proud To Be In Pinstripes….And It Only Took A Week!’ »

Yes I Will Cheer For The Red Sox…..

Do you ever remember a situation that was undeniably always fun to watch, unpredictably exciting, in complete awe of another person’s

talent? Accompanied, unquestionably by the personality to match, liked by enemies and peers.

The face of a nation greatest triumphs and all of a sudden this hero is not the same. It is as if he went flat, lost his the confidence of the leader that deserves respect forever. No one wants him to become an individual, who used to be a hero now be the man who is told that the is becoming undone by his deteriorating self.

For example in tennis watching Agassi struggle in his last match at the US Open, last match ever as a pro stagger cause his pain was so crippling. Even his opponent was rooting for him. Andre made me cry my eyes out as I grew up with him, watched him grow from a total punk into a graceful legend of the sport he loved. I have watched his speech after that loss on youtube.com many time….…Watch below even if it is not the first time: Continue reading ‘Yes I Will Cheer For The Red Sox…..’ »
