Do You Want To Hate Baseball? Watch The Orioles

Get ready to be a part of history after you read this post. It is the shortest post written on Lady Loves Pinstripes EVER; but it is definitely far from the sweetest.

Don’t thank me now, just read please.

Watching the Yankees play the Orioles is just painful.

Excuse me, watching any team play the Baltimore Orioles is like Chinese water torture.

A week ago, I experienced it myself in the Bronx.

The Orioles play like the living dead, but can you blame them? Continue reading ‘Do You Want To Hate Baseball? Watch The Orioles’ »

And The Award Goes To…..

Gold Glove awards completed today, as MLB Award Season has officially started.

Spreading out nicely for the month after the World Series keeps talks and debates flowing. It also lightens the initial blow for baseball fans everywhere; whom are all adjusting to nights free of baseball.

Then before you know it, 2010 is upon us and hopes can fill fans hearts for the season to start.

My sincerest congratulations, to all the recipients thus far, who are in such an elite field.

Here are the 2009 Award Winners thus far (more to come):

COMEBACK PLAYER OF THE YEAR:

American League – Aaron Hill, 2B – Toronto Blue Jays

After suffering a concussion in 2008, Aaron Hills baseball future was in question. Hill’s determination to prove doubters wrong is a true inspiration that hard work can pay-off. Hill had only seven errors, with.991 fielding percentage and was first in home-runs (36), RBIs (108), total bases (340) and at-bats (682) out of all second baseman. This is after it took months for Hill just to ride a bike again.

National League – Chris Carpenter, SP – St. Louis Cardinals

Chris Carpenter finished the season with a record of 17-4 with a 2.24 ERA. Carpenter only allowed seven home-runs all season. Carpenter came back to baseball this season after being out since the playoffs in 2006. Tommy John surgery and then at his initial return a nerve damage in his shoulder, more surgery for the right-hander.In 2009 Carpenter came-back from it all and is in talk for the Cy Young Award as well.

DELIVERY MAN OF THE YEAR AWARD:

Mariano Rivera, RP – New York Yankees

This is the award for the best relief pitcher of the season. In the 2009 season, no question, no doubt that it could only be Mariano Rivera. Rivera is the greatest of all-time and at 40 years old he doesn’t seem to be slowing down. Gotta go to Mo!!

Can I Say 9 and Still Going…..

Went to the game tonight……and the team looks unstoppable!! Joba got hit by a ball and left the game in the first inning so lets hope this is not a DL situation. With Wang coming up momentarily and Hughes looking good it is not terrible if he needs to fix something.

Here is the option I hope has a chance…..Hughes should stay up in the majors, if and only if Wang is dominate when he arrives and then Joba, after we hear his situation from tonight, be put in as setup for Mo. The reason I think we needed a dominant middle relief, lights out guy because the season is long and…..
1 – Tampa will get better and it is pretty inevitable it will be a threatening force at that. Reason why….young, hungry and now they have gained the respect. And I mean in the most crutial areas needed by earning it from last seasons preformace, by not being afraid of the big bad Red Sox and I think the Yankees name is enough said and they have fans who seem more steadfast to stand behind them no matter what! Oh and I guess Longoia, Crawford, Upton, Shields, Kazmir, Nelson, Sonnanstine, Aybar, Navarro, Bartlett, Pena, Navaro, Garzza….I think you get the point they are household names already. So I will rephrase…..dangerously better!!

2- The Red Sox with Jason Bay are the toughest by far and with then just sweeping the Blue Jays with the win tonight means game on for when we play those mass-holes for fans Red Sox!!

3 – Toronto’s has won a lot games and thats what the plan for their chances is to crush the outsiders cause they have a great team waiting to show it off with minimul injuries thus far, the players look physically so much bigger then their opponents and the Blue Jay fans need to maintain consistant attendance, along with loyalty to give the team some motivation to make your city proud.
