Yankees: Remember Martin, Chavez, Swisher and Ibanez?

How is Bleacher Creature favorite Nick Swisher fitting in with the Tribe fans?

Is Russell Martin flourishing in Pittsburgh?

Did Raul Ibanez bring his clutch bat from the Bronx to Seattle?

And is Eric Chavez’s body holding up in Arizona?

During this past off-season, the Yankees lost four key players from the 2012 squad.

Since the Yankees are off today before they play host to the scrappy Oakland Athletics this weekend, I thought it was a good time to check-in on how each is doing so far this season.

Without further ado…here are the 2013 batting stats for Russell Martin, Eric Chavez, Raul Ibanez and Nick Swisher:

Do you think the Yankees made the right decisions by letting these four go?

Or do you wish one; two or all four guys were still wearing pinstripes?

Personally, I wish Russell Martin were back because he was great behind the dish and had some big hits at the end of last season.

Francisco Cervelli came into the season looking good until he broke his wrist last weekend and now is sidelined for 8-10 weeks.

Cervelli went from important to irrelevant real fast.

Also, Chavez could have been helpful at third base but the new Yankees like Hafner and Wells have made it easier to forget about these guys.

If Martin had hit a lick during the season and won a few more games for us those Big hits late in the season would not have seen so big.

John – Martin had 18-homers last season, and he was tough as nails.
Cervelli is not durable as he has had injury problems in the past….remember his concussion issues.
