The New York Yankees had a rough time on the West Coast but even after going 2-5 and losing A-rod, the Bombers still own the best record in the AL.
What the Yankees do now share is the best record in baseball, as the Washington Nationals also have a 59-39 record after their win over the Brewers last night 8-2.
The reason the Yankees are ranked at the top is because the AL is overall stronger and the Nationals looked out matched when the two played a month ago.
Other teams making huge strides are the Detroit Tigers who are now just a half-game behind the Chicago White Sox in the AL. And in the NL, the Cincinnati Reds are currently on a seven game win streak but the Pittsburgh Pirates stay hot on their trail.
As for the Rangers, seems that Texas needs some help in their starting rotation or else things could get tough. I am sure that owner Nolan Ryan publicly calling out slugger Josh Hamilton for carrying a .188 BA for June and July didn’t help too much either. But hey if anyone has earned that right it is Ryan.
Ok enough of my blabbing, as now you can stop wondering where your team ranked this week and see for yourself.
ENJOY!!
